The Royal Variety Performance returned to our screens last night, bringing with it a spectacular array of talent and a touch of royal glamour. Held at the iconic Royal Albert Hall, the event was attended by Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla, marking the King’s first appearance as patron of the Royal Variety Charity.
Hosted by the comedic duo of Alan Carr and Amanda Holden, the evening was a whirlwind of music, comedy, and theatre. Highlights included a powerful performance by the Change and Check Choir, led by Marti Pellow, raising awareness for breast cancer; a dazzling display from the cast of “Starlight Express”; and side-splitting stand-up routines from some of the UK’s top comedians.
The show also featured captivating performances from West End productions such as “Oliver!” and “The Devil Wears Prada”, showcasing the best of British theatre. Music lovers were treated to sets by chart-topping artists and a special performance celebrating the 30th anniversary of the iconic song “Love is All Around.”
While the full show aired on ITV on Sunday 15th December, the London Examiner was lucky enough to get a sneak peek behind the scenes. Our exclusive coverage includes interviews with the stars, insights into the making of the show, and, of course, our verdict on the night’s top performances.
