Jedward have sadly confirmed that their beloved mother has passed away. John and Edward Grimes told their fans that their mum Susanna had died after ‘living with cancer for many years’.
In a Twitter statement, the 27-year-old twins wrote: ‘Rest In Peace Mammy. ‘You live on through us. We will miss you and your smile. ‘You shaped the character of who we are. Mammy lived with cancer for many years but was always full of life! You live on in our Memories and will always be alive in our Hearts.’ The Lipstick singers posted two pictures of them cuddling up to Susanna. Fans and friends of Jedward shared their condolences, noting how involved Susanna had been in their careers.
One person replied: ‘I’m absolutely devastated. Susanna has always been as much a part of the Jedward experience for me as you are. I can’t even imagine how you’re feeling right now, I’m shaken.’ Another fan responded: ‘She was always so proud of you and will forever be proud of you and everything you achieved! And now she’ll live forever through your legacy and all of us.’ Susanna had battled cancer
Susanna worked as a schoolteacher in Dublin, but also worked as her sons’ manager, and was instrumental in their rise to stardom after they came to fame on The X Factor in 2009. When the twins were in the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2017, she passionately defended them after Jedward were branded irritating by Coleen Nolan. Calling into Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On The Side to speak to Rylan Clark-Neal, Susanna said: ‘Jedward are not irritating. In the midst of ferocious arguing in the house, sure, Jedward are being themselves and bringing good vibes.
